Date: Thus Far

I have been on many first dates, almost exclusively first dates...  You would think this would make me an expert!  No such luck, but that just means an excuse for more practice!

The first date, or dateprimaritous as it would be called if it was an epic dinosaur, is my favorite of all the species of dates!  Let me tell you why:
  1. I love getting to know people and making new friends; a date is the perfect way to make an acquaintance transfer into a true friendship.  I have noticed that the majority of my friends are the product of awesome first dates.
  2. On a first date there is no sure commitment.  You are testing the waters and learning about other personality types.  You are just getting to know each other.
  3. Most of all, you learn a lot about YOURSELF.  It is truly amazing!  I have learned that I speak to fill silence, I like to laugh, I am bad at making decisions that affect others but quick to make decisions that only affect me, I like to eat, and I get mad when I am hungry.
Dating IS a scary thing! Sprinkled between fabulous dates are a few dates that have mortified me, causing me to take a vow to never go on a date ever again.  Somehow, however, my faith in the dating system is rekindled by a handsome young man with a dazzling smile.
Each date is a leap of faith.  I invest trust in him that he will respect me and we both have faith that we will be able to carry on a not-so-boring conversation!  The best dates are the ones where you can talk!!!  I don’t mean talk about the weather and ward gossip.  I mean real talk!

A connection is made on a date when you reach the level of taking about IDEAS!  On the perfect date, ideas should fuel the conversation and entertain all night.
