Jimmermania

My Fifteen Minutes of FAME:

Recently everywhere I go people have been stopping to ask me if I attend BYU Basketball games.  First off, why yes I do... my soon-to-be-fiance (I am going to just surprise him with the news), Jimmer, plays every game and I love supporting him :D

Our relationship became public when a photo of us at a game was featured in the most recent BYU magazine on page 52.  I don't know how to handle the new publicity... it is simply amazing!  Now I know how Jimmer feels.  Truthfully I might have to start taking my classes online too just to avoid the swarms of students requesting my autograph, asking if they could touch my hand (which so briefly touched Jimmer's arm), or the one kid who keeps stealing my used tissues (ew).

See ME - right in front of Jimmer :D It is like he is looking right at me!

Ok.... here is the real story:  (and yes that really is me in front of Jimmer... this is REAL LIFE)

My amazingly awesome friend, Adam, (sitting to the right of me in the above picture) won two FRONT ROW TICKETS to the BYU Basketball game against UNLV and he invited me to sit with him!  We even got shirts that said "Front Row Fanatic" and after the game I got Noah and Abouo to sign it!

We arrived to the game early and watched as the team warmed up.  Jimmer was sitting on the side for a second so I decided to yell "I love you Jimmer" - surprisingly he turned around and smiled and then laughed at me and turned back to the person he was talking to.  Before that moment I had loved Jimmer as a basketball player.  But after he laughed at me I immediately fell in love with Jimmer's smile.  It was really quite silly - but I was smitten.

Throughout the game I was amazed at how good a front row seat really is... I mean, you can see the athlete's leg hair!!! It was an amazing game and I will never forget it!

At the end of the game BYU won and it was a personal feat for Jimmer because he made a career high with the most points in the Mountain West Conference. As a first in Jimmer history, he ran to his fellow student fans.

At first I didn't really believe what was happening.  He never approaches the fans.  And there Jimmer was, walking directly to me.  I mean it, he came right in front of me... all my dreams where coming true!!!

He just stood there with his arms raised in pure joy and triumph and I gasped and touched his arm.  Then the crowd started to push against me and I lost all feeling in my legs - but it was completely worth it.

The story does not end here :D  After the game we waited for the team to come out so we could have them sign our shirts.  Jimmer, instead of going into the locker room, was giving an interview at a table right across from me.  The interview was on the radio so he was free to look around.  Then I caught his glance and waved!  And he smiled and waved back.

I will be sending out our engagement announcements soon ;)

THIS IS THE PHOTO IN THE BYU MAGAZINE

This is me in agony as the crowd pushed against my legs and Jimmer begins to leave haha

This is the first time I met Jimmer at the Freshman Pep Rally before my first semester at BYU started in the fall of 2010.
This is proof that I am a true fan of Jimmer and loved him before this year even began... and knew who he was!  I am still surprised that some people didn't know who he was at the beginning of the year...

This is the valentine I will be handing out next February :D

And here is the BEST video clip ever.  Make sure you have tissues near!
