Mormon Mommy Blogs, Ice Cream, and Fishy Faces

This weekend was Stake Conference!  Now that I am "old" I had the opportunity to attend the Adult Session of Stake Conference last night.  To prove how mature I am, I made fishy faces at my sister before the conference started :)  

Completely off subject: One of my goals in life is to develop a smiley icon to represent the fishy face, which is under appreciated among the masses. 

At the conference President Ward spoke about a recent article in which professional women admitted to being addicted to "Mormon Mommy Blogs."  Being a new blogger myself I was extremely amused/interested and decided to research this article and the new trend.  I found this article and preceded to read every Mormon blog it mentioned :D I stumbled upon a few that I really loved and some that I had already been reading! 

My Discoveries:

Rock Star Diaries- My cousin (who has one of the cutest blogs ever) first introduced this blog to me when i was out at BYU.  It is about a young family's everyday life and I love looking at her creative pictures and outfits (and her adorable new baby!)

Seriously So Blessed- I also started reading this blog at BYU.  My friend Jake introduced it to me.  It is really satirical and is always good for a laugh. It is crucial to remember that we don't have to continually be perfect and exactly like everyone else.  Be yourself - the good and the bad - that is really what is perfect :D


Nie Nie Dialogues- This blog is one of the most inspirational stories I have ever read!  Please visit it (and watch this Mormon message!) and take a second to think if you have recently shown gratitude for all that you have been blessed with. 

The Langs- Cute pictures and fun ideas!  I love reading about her stories and daily adventures in NYC.


Say YES to Hoboken-  I visited this one because of the article I read, as I was skimming it I saw one of my friends, Erica, who also has an amazing blog (North Meets South) about modest affordable fashion and life in the city!


C. Jane, Enjoy It-  This blog is by Nie Nie's sister and has very truthful stories about pregnancy...haha! I will save this blog for later in life, so that I don't get too scared...

The Daybook- They just had a baby... enough said :D




After the session my family went out to get ice cream!  I love ice cream and I think that it is perfectly reasonable to have ice cream every day* - something I learned at college (see dad, that tuition money is teaching me important life lessons). 

 *As long as you go to the gym everyday for an hour... speaking of which I just joined a gym and I get a free consultation with a personal trainer on Monday :D I shall let you know how that goes...


After we got home I made my dad look at my blog so that he could "better understand what we learned at Stake Conference" (and because it is cool haha).  And then we watched the best YouTube videos ever:  Divine Comedy's Firebolt, Marcel the Shell with Shoes on, Kid History, Harry Potter Puppet Pals, and Funny Face Exercises.  We understand true entertainment.
